Operated by: Surrey Gliding Club

Location: Just N of the A248, ENE of Chilworth and about 2.75nm SE of Guildford town centre

NOTES: Listed as operational in 1930.

I originally had this listed at CHILWORTH, but in February 2024, Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', sent me a list published in 1930 of - "Where Gliding Can Be Seen". This gave the exact location with the advice: "Every week-end, if weather permits, at Lockner Farm, Chilworth, near Guildford. Saturday 3 p.m. to sunset, Sunday 10 a.m. to sunset."

I imagine, being on the south face of the South Downs where they tail off, probably restricted to tows by a bungee cord? Possibly a winch? If anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be most welcome.
