Location: Just E of Mickley Green village, roughly 3.5nm S of Bury St Edmunds town centre
Period of operation: Unknown?
Runways: 17/35 550 grass 10/28 410 grass 06/24 320 grass
18/36 310 grass
NOTES: We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', to thank for pointing out this location. He sent me a Google Earth © picture dated 2021 showing traces, (presumably after a very dry period), of the runways layout.
Whilst looking at this location in November 2023, on Google Earth, to see if any other signs of these runways appear, going back to 1999, I was astonished to find, dated 2023, a picture incorporating an overlay showing the runways. I had never seen this before. Is this a new development? If so, I wonder, what is the basis for this information?
If anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be much appreciated.
