Location:  Just SSE of Billingshurst

Period of operation:  Early 2000s to -

Runway(s):  It appears that shortly after being laid out, initially a 17/35 runway of around 300 metres was added. (See the 2005 picture)

Since then:   03/21   380   grass

NOTES:  What I believe to be an unique feature in the U.K. is the large oval area marked out in the middle of the 03/21 runway, later just where the taxyway leading up to the hangar appears. Can anybody kindly explain why this feature was added?

It also appears that the hangar was added at some point in the early 2000s, after the airstrip was laid out. If anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be much appreciated.

In August 2020, after just having crossed the runway on the public footpath, we observed a Gyrocopter (G-CGCE) landing here from the north. It used the central circle as a turning circle to backtrack to the hangar in the north-east corner of the field.
