Note:  All four of these pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©

Operated by: Witherenden Microlight Club

Location: E of the A28, just N of Newenden

Period of operation: ? to 1976 then reopened in 2003/4. Apparently closed before 2018

Runway(s): Initially 182 grass (?)

2004:   10/28   335   grass

2007:   09/27   310   grass            10/28   340   grass

2013:   09/27   460   grass            10/28   460   grass

NOTES: The intention in early 2004 is to reopen this site for micro-light flying initially but to extend the site gradually and possibly for GA traffic too. The site was once a private airstrip which closed in 1976.

The layout, when the second runway was added, is quite unusual. See pictures.

If anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be much appreciated. Some pictures will be most welcome too.
