Note: This map only gives the position of Old Romney village within the UK. If anybody can kindly provide a more exact location for this site, this advice will be most welcome.

OLD ROMNEY: Military Balloon Station

Military users: RFC/RAF Kite Balloon Station

Location: In/near Old Romney on the A259, about 1.5nm WNW of New Romney

Period of operation: 1917 to 1918

NOTES: Used for balloon operations especially regarding artillery co-operation duties.
