The helipad?

Note:  The first picture (2018) was obtained from Google Earth ©. The second picture (2001) was also obtained from Google Earth ©

Operated by: 2000: Roserrow Golf and Country Club

Location: 1nm SE of Polzeath, 8.5nm NE of RAF St MAWGAN

Period of operation: 2000s only?

Runway: 2000: 09/27   700x60   grass    (set in 400 acres)

2001: 07/25   600x20   grass   (also a marked helipad available)
Note: I assume the runway width of 20 metres published in one pilots flight guide was an error?

2005: 08/26   700x60   grass

NOTES: Is it not simply great to discover this airfield/helipad right here in the UK. We do have a few similar examples of course, but I think we do tend to think the Americans especially and possibly the French have the advantage with sites like  this. I expect visitors will require a pretty ‘deep and full’ wallet but nevertheless an  eighteen hole golf course, tennis courts and other faclities were on offer in 2000 including  luxury homes on site. A brasserie with sea views was/is open all day and in the evening.

Light aircraft are welcome at all times on PPR and at pilot’s own risk. Sounds really good  to visit if you have any money left over after flying there?
