RUTHERGLEN: Private airstrip?

NOTES: Today it does seem so highly unlikely that a private airstrip could have existed in this area so close to Glasgow city centre? However, in 1959 the Rutherglen Group were registered with the Association of British Aero Clubs and Centres as a PFA Co-ownership Group; their base listed as being, “Rutherglen (private), Glasgow.”

Any information about this enterprise will be very welcome. And if the location used can be provided, this advice will be much appreciated.
