Stourport

Notes: This map only shows the position of Stourport within the UK.

STOURPORT-on-SEVERN: Military airstrip

Military user: US Army Field Artillery Units

Location: Airstrip site not known, Stourport is 4nm SSW of Kidderminster

Period of operation: 1943 to 1944?

NOTES: Having had a look into the history of this area, I now suspect this airstrip was probably somewhere within the two US Army Bewdley Camps (aka Burlish Top?). Bewdley is another town, roughly 2miles NW of Stourport, so presumably the camps were situated somewhere in between?

However, if anybody can kindly offer advice on this, it will be most welcome.
