Note: Pictures by the author. The second picture is of the "airport" sign put in place during the Red Bull air races held at LONGLEAT in 2005. WING FARM was the base for the competing aircraft.

Operated by: Mr E W B Trollope

Location: About 2.5 nm SSW of Warminster (another report seen says 4nm SSW of Warminster). A check on Google Earth several years later confirms that my estimate was correct.

Period of operation: 1970s (?) to -

Maintenance: 2001: Airborne Composites

Note: I had collected this damaged aeroplane, the Kolb Twinstar G-MYOR from Mount Airey near Hull in Yorkshire the pevious day, on the 11th February 2012, and I am delivering it to Galaxy Microlights.

                        2012: Galaxy Microlights

Runway: 1992:    09/27    500x13    grass
              2000:    09/27    500x26    grass

NOTES: In the mid 1970s it appears the Jodel DR.1051 Sicile G-AYLC and Gardan GY-201 Minicab G-BANC were based here, the former registered to Mr E W B Trollope and the latter to Mr C D B Trollope. In 2005 the aircraft participating in the incredible and spectacular “Red Bull” air races held at Longleat were based here. One of the aircraft involved, the Extra EA300 D-EZOZ suffered an undercarriage collapse when landing here. See AAIB report EW/G2005/08/03 for more info.
