Location: On Turners Arms Farm, E of B1269, just S of A174, 1.5 to 2nm S of Redcar town centre

Note: Originally Barry Smith flew his Nipper 2 in aerobatic competitions and developed a series of engines suitable for aerobatics based on air-cooled Volkswagen designs. In later years Barry Smith designed and built the Acro Advanced G-BPAA, and this first flew in September 1994.

NOTES:
In the 1970s it appears that only the Tipsy T.66 Nipper 2 G-ARBG registered to Mr B. O. Smith was based here - and this was Barry Smith of course,
It is well worth looking up his most interesting career in the development of affordable aerobatic engines and of course, the Acro Advanced aircraft.
