LEIGH GREEN: Military Landing Ground

Military users: RFC/RAF

50  [Home Defence] Sqdn    (Probably flying Sopwith Camels?)

112  [Home Defence]  Sqdn

Location: In/near Leigh Green village on the B2080, just SE of Tenterden. Listed as being 0.5 miles from Tenterden railway station

Period of operation: 1916 to 1919

Site area: 30 acres     731 x 229

NOTES: Listed as being a night Landing Ground only. This does make me wonder, just how often were many of these “night” Landing Grounds actually used in WW1?
